What is the answer to That Rings a Bell (clock tower puzzle)?

That Rings a Bell is the clocktower escape that follows A Surprising Start in Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School. The room uses a 25-minute timer. Every lock, in order:

  1. Rope spool: Star point counts on matching lock colors → 47658.
  2. Constellation lever: Thread the rope through the four wall symbols (top to bottom), check the telescope, enter CAMEL, pull the lever for the first ladder.
  3. Gears: Place the small, medium, and large gears on the wall mechanism; align the arrows, then enter Right, Down, Up, Left, Right, Down on the directional lock behind the large gear.
  4. Planet model: After climbing that ladder, set shapes left to right Square, Hexagon, Circle, Triangle, Pentagon (telescope stack). Take Shears.
  5. Clock chest: Take the Cipher Table from the statue above the boxes; map the five clock times → LUNAR. Collect Moonlight from the chest.
  6. Elevator: With Moonlight equipped, read letters at purple moon symbols from new moon to full moon → ECLIPSE on the elevator lock.
  7. Pendulum floor: Ride the elevator up, cut the rope with Shears, ride down, climb the pendulum ladder.
  8. Season box (sun puzzle): On the four-sided box, set each season’s sun height and direction to Fall middle/West, Spring middle/East, Summer longest/North-West, Winter lowest/North. Take the Lens.
  9. Bell melody: Attach the Lens to the Roman-numeral clock; follow 9795639 on the hand, pull ropes A, C, A, E, D, G, A, then ring the lowered bell.

Hints for That Rings a Bell (reveal one at a time)

Nudge: where to look first

Start at the rope spool lock, then the telescope constellation, gears, the clock chest, moon wall icons, the elevator, and the upper season box before the Roman clock and bells.

Clue: partial answer

The rope spool code comes from counting star points on matching lock colors. Rope anchors follow the four symbols beside the lever — some handles look alike. Gears sit under the new-moon mark, behind the elevator, and beside the five-clock chest. Moonlight reveals letters only when you stand at each purple moon phase in order from dark to full.

Solution: how it works

Each lock color on the spool takes the point count of its matching star (4-7-6-5-8). CAMEL comes from the telescope outline after routing the rope through the four wall symbols in order. Rotating the three gears draws one arrow path, which is the same sequence as the directional lock (right, down, up, left, right, down). Clock times on the chest map through the cipher grid to LUNAR; moon phases map to letters spelling ECLIPSE. For the sun puzzle, each box face shows a season picture — set the sun orbit on that face to the height shown on the matching wall dial and point it toward the panel’s compass mark (spring flowers = east, summer = north-west, autumn trees = west, winter snow = north). On the Roman clock, read outside-facing numerals through the Lens so 9795639 casts the bell letters A-C-A-E-D-G-A.

Room notes

In co-op, consider splitting gear collection and rope routing, then regroup at the gear wall.

FAQ

What is the clock tower puzzle code in Escape Academy 2?
That Rings a Bell chains many locks: 47658 on the rope spool, CAMEL on the constellation lever, Right-Down-Up-Left-Right-Down on the gear lock, LUNAR on the clock chest, ECLIPSE at the elevator, season sun heights on the four-sided box, then bell pulls A-C-A-E-D-G-A from 9795639.
What is the sun puzzle in Escape Academy 2?
Players often mean the season box inside That Rings a Bell: match each panel’s sun height and compass direction to the wall clock dials — Fall mid/West, Spring mid/East, Summer high/North-West, Winter low/North — then take the Lens for the Roman clock.
What does 47658 mean in That Rings a Bell?
Count points on each ceiling star and enter them on the matching rope-lock colors: blue 4, purple 7, red 6, yellow 5, green 8.
How do I get the Shears and Moonlight in the clock tower?
After the gear-arrow lock opens its ladder, set the planet model left to right as Square, Hexagon, Circle, Triangle, Pentagon and take the Shears. Read the five clock faces with the cipher table for LUNAR, then use Moonlight on the purple moon symbols for ECLIPSE at the elevator.
What bell order does Ring the Bells 9795639 use?
With the Lens on the Roman clock, turn the hand to each digit in 9795639; each stop points to a letter on the sun dial (9=A, 7=C, 5=E, 6=D, 3=G). Pull the bell ropes in order A, C, A, E, D, G, A, then ring the large bell that lowers.
